Lantern Review of Camp Laurel South
Camp Laurel South is known for warm, family traditions and geographic diversity, welcoming children from 17 states. Often regarded as one of the country’s premier summer camps, it can be a challenge to “find a space” due to a stellar return rate. Laurel South’s wonderful program is centered on individual attention through a wide-ranging and balanced program.
Laurel South offers a four-week session with a philosophy rooted in a dedication to a high-quality program delivered by professional and well-trained staff using the finest equipment and facilities. The well-maintained and beautiful grounds, centered on one of Maine’s finest lakes, are a reflection in a belief that quality is important. Through the activities, the staff encourages campers to try new things and helps build confidence by developing competence.
In the cabins, friendships and long-lasting relationships take center stage. This focus builds social skills within the cabin and among the different age groups. It is a truly a “family camp” led by the hands-on, sincere and personal approach of camp directors Roger and Dagni Christian.
